never say never...

Hey y'all...so this is the video that I made for a project in class AND for fan forum's 100th brooke & peyton friendship thread. I had a lot of fun doing this, and the best part about it, was that this was a collaboration video with Mari (otherwise known as Mary1209 from the Pedestrian contest) I hope you all like this and please continue to vote for the contest

My new idea... Video Post #1

Ok so I've decided that every day after this post, I am going to post up one of my videos for you all to see. I know I can just post up my YT link, but a lot of the videos I had posted on there have gotten deleted. Plust, this sort of builds suspense :)

I thought I'd start off with a Leyton video.

Song: Decode
Artist: Paramore

*click on the button on the bottom right corner of video screen...it makes the screen pop out and you can make it bigger :) *

Gratitude...

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you that cared yesterday and read my blog...and even if you didn't, you still cared by asking me what was wrong. It truly means a lot.

I had a lot on my plate, some of you knew since I talked to you privately about it, but I'm glad some of it got settled, because that means it's just gonna get better.

A lot of my friends left for college, as I'm sure has happened with many of you, so you all are my lifelines right now. No joke.

And then, after reading Raquel's and Becca's blogs, that really shows how much we are all family. That this one company can bring sooo many together in such little time.

To follow Raq's post, I'm happy to add my fellow friend on here that has helped me through a lot. And that is Kim...otherwise known as Shades :)

She's gonna hate me for complimenting her lol, but I just wanna say that I'm so glad she's helped me, and listened to my crap lots of the time when there's no one else. Especially the other day this week...which I was freaking out. She took initiative and told me it would all be okay.

Plus, I'm so proud of her and the screenplay. I know she worked hard at it and was very skeptical of it at first. She put herself out there, and that's really all you can do at a time like this. She's gonna do great :)

It's funny really, family can tell you something's going to be "ok" all they want, and we wont necessarily listen to them...but as soon as a close friend or confidante tells us things will be ok...we accept it more quickly.

Still puzzles me to this day, but I'm glad I have Kim AND the rest of you.

Inspiration...never gets old

Alright, so I just watched the SGP messages video that Megan Mary made, and just like watching HB's performance on OTH last night, I was rendered speechless. I can't begin to describe how wonderful this video was. EVERYONE who sent a video in, or pictures, did an amazing job. I guarantee that the words "wonderful, beautiful, amazing, inspiring" are going to be used way to much in this post that y'all will get sick of them haha.

The quotes at the end were very intriguing and I'm glad they were used. It really gave it such an authentication to it and definitely was a great closing. Loved how scattered the submissions were with everyone. They weren't all just in ONE spot of the world :)

I know I didn't get a chance to make a submission of my own, but this video literally inspired me to go out and get a damn web cam for my computer because I want to be part of this greatness that was created. Honestly, this was an awesome thing to see waking up today...and this is the 3rd day in a row where I've felt like that.

It truly is inspiring how selfless, and genuine all of these individuals are that sent their hearts in a message. I truly was out of words while watching this and that RARELY happens with me. I'm the broody one in the group :) But y'all were awesomely and wonderfully beautiful in this creation.

To steal a line from Smallville, because I'm just a fanatic like that..."I know it's not that eloquent," but this video showed that I care a lot about all of you.

Lately, I've lost some hope in believing in myself and wasn't sure when I was going to get it back. I have been writing a book since last year, and had lost inspiration, but I think I finally found it. Life has literally been throwing me around lately, and I wasn't sure when I was going to land on my feet and become balanced again, but this video just brought that back and I'll be forever grateful to you all

Hil - top 10 performances of "Burton" on "One Tree" :)

Alright, so..................Kim (shades) and I were skyping a few minutes ago, talking about Hilarie's wicked performance on OTH tonight, and totally added it to one of her top 5 performances. Then we kept talking and discussing and threw our top 5 out there. Discussed some more, then Kim said, "totally blogging a top 10 HB performace," and I told her she stole my idea since I was basically going to do the same. Long story short, Kim and I were so enthralled by her performance tonight, that we both decided to put up OUR favorite top 10 moments of HB. I hope you all like it, and feel free to comment and throw your top faves in the comments when you leave em'

SoGoPro presentation I had...and thanks y'all

Hey y'all. First off, I just want to thank all of you for being supportive, understanding and respectful when I did my SGP presentation today. It meant a lot to me and just so you know, the class loved it.

Ali asked me the other day to post my report that I wrote for the class...so here it is. Yes I know, it's kinda long so just bear with it or don't read if you dont want to haha.

Wilmington, North Carolina was once known as the key location of filming for the hit TV show “Dawson’s Creek,” and current hit show “One Tree Hill", but in 2007, an actress from the current hit series, Hilarie Burton, decided to further her career in the movie production business and create Southern Gothic Productions. This production company is settled in Wilmington not only because of economical money issues, but also because of the fact that so many more screenwriters and film makers cross through there. Hilarie Burton is a 27 year-old actress who started out at MTV’s Total Request Live back in 2000, and was cast to play 17 year-old Peyton Sawyer on “One Tree Hill” in 2004. Throughout her stay on the hit TV show, Burton kept trying to figure out how to make her career mean something to the people and fans, and had the idea of Southern Gothic when talking to crew-member Kelly Tenney, and thus, the production company was created.
Southern Gothic was created by Hilarie and Kelly to show that hit blockbuster movies can be made in smaller, cheaper locations, while still getting that great quality and feel. “’SGP’ is a company dedicated to the creation of touching, relevant projects celebrating the influence of Southern Culture,” which was written by a Southern Gothic team member on their prototype website. Their official website should be showing up in a few weeks once everything gets under control and runs smoothly.
The company’s upcoming movie “Pedestrian” is a Modern Romantic Comedy about a young, witty photographer named Lincoln Booth who finds out he has cancer. During his struggle to find himself, he meets a young and beautiful brunette by the name of Mona Mills. After a few chance encounters, without the knowledge of his condition, Mona is asked to accompany Lincoln back to his hometown of North Carolina. Along the way, Mona finds out the truth about Booth, and has to ponder on whether or not she can trust him, and heads back to New York forcing the North Carolina native to face his dilemma alone. “Touching and relevant, ‘Pedestrian’ reminds us that we all have what it takes to be more than just a nameless face in the crowd,” says writer Nick Gray, who is the screenwriter of the film.
Austin Nichols was cast as Lincoln Booth in early February of this year by the SGP team and fans were ecstatic, myself included. Part of Nichols filmography includes movies, “Glory Road,” “The Day After Tomorrow,” and TV shows, “John from Cincinnati,” and “One Tree Hill,” in which he played a love interest to Hilarie Burton’s character of Peyton Sawyer. Nichol’s gallant performances and real ways of life are what landed him the role. The company has yet to cast the rest of the characters in the film, but will be very soon. Even though “Pedestrian” will be Southern Gothic’s first film ever, I know for a fact that it will be well done. The minds of Hilarie, Kelly and the rest of the team make fans thrive to be apart of the company.
The Southern Gothic blog that Hilarie created back in January of this year only had about 10 followers the first week. She would post a few lines or words every few days and slowly but surely, more and more people would show up. I was following this company since day one, and I honestly don’t believe I’ve seen such a reaction before. Whether it’s just to see Hilarie, or legitimately be part of the company, fans and businesses around the world stop by. Being part of the company has been a wonderful experience and I wish a lot of other companies would do the same. The blog is just one part of several that have helped this company achieve liftoff, and their first film hasn’t even finished casting yet. At the beginning of March, the blog site had received 500 followers, which is a lot for not even two months of website hosting. New company’s rarely do this well, fan base wise, this early in the game. In all honesty, this company has really only been around for about 2 months, even thought Burton started talking about in 2007. As of right now, SGP is solidly fan based which not a lot of companies can do. And usually, production companies that DO have high fan bases are already well known for at least 4 or 5 years, and Southern Gothic is barely starting out.
Another way the company stays in touch with fans is by having a Flickr account, a Twitter account and a Last.FM music player on the Southern Gothic Blogspot page. Flickr is a photo sharing website that lots of professional photographers use to share pieces of work. Many companies and music bands use it as well to keep fans informed. Well, Southern Gothic started a Flickr page and uploads pictures from around Wilmington and any other photos they wish to show. Just recently, Ali, whom is part of the SGP team, created a street team group on Flickr to use other members’ photos to show on the blogspot. I was unintentionally honored the title of “Crash Test Dummy” for her to use and mess around with my photos. After a few tries, she told all of us to upload photos on our own Flickr accounts and she would post them up on the site so everyone can look at them if they choose. The street team group page also has a map attached to it to show where everyone is posting pictures from and where they took them.
The Last.Fm player on the SGP blog dials in to favorite tracks of members on the team. From Taylor Swift to Elvis Costello, and Paramore to Disturbed, Southern Gothic shows that all of their tastes in music are welcome. Their Last.Fm page allows other users and fans to be added as friends and listen to all the same music if they wish. Now onto the Twitter account. A lot of people didn’t know what Twitter was until lots of celebrities and musicians started to use it. Twitter allows you to post something at a specific moment and lets all followers see. If you are a follower, you can set up the account so that whenever someone “Tweets” or posts an update, it will be sent to your cell phone. Southern Gothic uses Twitter on a daily basis and I’ve come to realize it’s very effective when wanting to have something shown to all those following. “Amber…Pedestrian trailer rocked!!! Can’t wait to show Hilarie, Nick, Austin and the rest of SGP!” was the text message I received on Friday morning after posting an example fan-made theatrical trailer of their upcoming film “Pedestrian.”
The last two key components that SGP is using to dial fans in are the chat box on their blogspot, and a Youtube Site. The Cbox, otherwise known as the ‘chatbox’, lets followers of the blog and other fans chat amongst themselves about the company itself. It really lets us all interact with each other and talk to people around the world with no gimmicks or tricks. One minute you could be talking to someone from your hometown and the next thing you know, someone from Ireland or Spain could pop in. For instance, everyday when I go in the Cbox, there are at least 5 people from 5 diff places, in the chat room. I’m from California, while a few friends of mine, Kim and Melissa, are from Arkansas and Utah, while moderators Megan, Becca, and Veronica are from Minnesota, Georgia and Spain. While Ali, from SGP is always in the chat room, once in a while, we will get an awesome surprise and get Hilarie, Nick, or Kelly in the chat room just to drop by and say a quick hello. Southern Gothic did really well in choosing to have a chat room open all day and night because fans from all over love to help out whenever they can. Now the Youtube site was created by myself and another member, Portia. About a month ago, Hilarie and Nick of SGP decided to create a vlog (video log) of themselves to introduce the company and blogspot. So I thought about how to let more people see the video, and decided to email Kelly Tenney and pitch him the idea of having a Youtube account. He loved the idea and discussed it with the team, but to no avail, someone had already created an account without their knowledge. So, Kelly then told me to discuss it with Portia and hoped we could co-moderate the site and work as a team. She was more than welcome to do so, and thus, we both created the site and uploaded every vlog or interview SGP does…or will do in the future. The SoGoPro Youtube site allows fans to see the vlogs and interviews at any time and leave comments. At the beginning of the month, Portia and I were asked to create a video for a “Pedestrian Movie Trailer/Music Video Contest,” which consisted of fans creating videos of the movie and sending them into us by April 1st. We would then sort through them and judge a winner and they would receive a prize.
Even though I offered my services to do this job, with no pay, I wouldn’t trade it for the world because this company has given me a wonderful opportunity to be part of something great. Southern Gothic Productions is something that is going to change the world, if it hasn’t already. This company is risking a lot to include such a huge fan base and rely on fans the way it does, but in my opinion, I know that it’s worth it. To just think, if I hadn’t gone to Hilarie Burton’s website and noticed she posted something about SGP, I wouldn’t have been able to been apart of this greatness, along with all others who would easily agree with me. The team has great people skills, includes fans like no other, and allow themselves to BE themselves around fans. Even if it’s just to look at a blog, or watch a video, the fans and members of SGP are all family. Whether you are from California, or Africa, you are part of the team. And whether or not you are Ready for this company to achieve greatness…just get Set…and SoGo!

The B.Davis to my P. Sawyer, Bella to my Alice & Tigger to my Pooh

Alright haha...um Hilarie Burton from SGP AND Becca, inspired me to create this blog. I can feel the friendship love in here today and wanted to write about my opinions on it. So I shall begin my lovely explanation of these 3 wonderful girls in my life that I hope will always be here.

The first lovely lady goes by the name of Rivera. Jordan Rivera. And yes...we share the same last name, although we are not related in any way, other than being sisters from other misters :) This girl is wonderful. Always knows what to say and when to say it. Love her to death and am truly grateful that I met her my sophomore year in HS. I remember not to long ago her and I were sitting in my living room watching "The Final Riot" Paramore DVD and there was this funky pic of the band wearing moustaches...and as soon as I saw the pic, I knew she would say something. "OMG, that would be an awesome shirt wouldn't it?" I just smiled at her and told her that it definitely. So, on February 14th, yes that's V-day, but also her B-day (lol rhymed) I gave her a gift...and that gift was a shirt with that Paramore picture on it. She absolutely loved it...well that's what she told me at least lol. Anyway, the rest of that day was awesome and I won't forget it. Her and I get each other so much, it scares others haha. But screw the ones who don't believe in our friendship right? This girl is so complex, yet so simple, you think she was two completely different people and would love both of them to the max. Especially the times when we watch OTH and text each other about the lines we said in the episodes. Cuz she is Brooke Davis. Cheery to my broody. Brunette to my Blondie. Cohen to my Atwood. Summer to my Marissa and Davis to my Sawyer. Love you dear :)

The second silly human goes by the name of Ashley Osuna. Otherwise, known as "Bells". Everyone who's everyone, well at least who know us, know that we've been through a lot. And not all of it has been good. We've had ups and downs, argued, said hurtful things to one another....but I guess fate has other plans for us because here we are...close friends once again, and I don't think I'd change anything if I had a chance to go back. I've known her since well 8th grade, but didn't really talk to her until junior year in HS. I used to play basketball for my school, on varsity. I played since 7th grade and everyone who knew me knew that I played. Well my senior year, I decided I wanted to do bigger things in life and decided that I was going to quit. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do, but after I did, I realized there was a greater purpose of my leaving the game. Shortly after that my coach kicked me out of P.E. At first, I hated that I had to leave, but then I got switched to a History class...7th period. And that is where I met Ashley. Like literally had a full on convo with her. She's the one who lead me to the awesome path that is Twilight...hence why I call her Bella and her call me Alice :) Anyway, she's great. Listens when you need it, gives you space when you need it, and doesn't judge you. Haha she loves video games and is kick ass at them. No joke ;) She's gotten me through a lot of tough times during my senior year and have done alot together. Concerts, HS football games, grad night, movies, maggie moos, Khan, thrown her a surprise party, rock band (which she totally kicks my ass in) rocky road w/ gummy bears haha, and starbucks in the mornings. Love her to death and wish her the best with everything she does in life.

And last but certainly not least, there is a ball of energy named Ediyana Daniel...who wants to changer her name to Rivera, just because she loves my parents and I so much. :) This girl...well there aren't enough words for her. She's been in my life since 8th grade when we were on the same basketball team together. Ill be honest, at first, I didn't like her. She was loud, obnoxious and really really random, but after a few days, I learned to love her lol. She's so love able that its contagious sometimes. You could be in the crappiest of moods and hate the world, and all she has to do is smile, and all that anger subsides. Her and I know each other inside and out, like the back of our hands. Right now she's going to school in Oregon, and I miss her like crazy, but we talk on a daily basis so it's not so bad. We know each other to the point where I just have to look at her and she knows what I'm thinking and what to do about it. And vice versa. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her. Back in November, she came down from Oregon and stood at my house since she was having home issues at that particular time. Anyway, she knocked on my front door and pretty much tackled me to the floor, just to say hello. And the great thing about her, is that she is always like that. But when she's not in a good mood, she gets like me. Closed off, reserved, and somewhat bitchy. We are literally the only ones who can break each other. She doesn't push. She doesn't judge. She just accepts and waits patiently. So as a Christmas gift, I bought her a plane ticket to come down from Oregon for her break because I knew her money situation was tight with school and books and everything. This girl is so energetic at times, it's oddly normal. Hence why I call her Tigger :) Ediyana is great in every way, and there are only ONE of her in this world and I'm glad that she's one of my best friends. I worship her and am grateful to be selfish enough to have her in my life :)

I have these amazing friends and I'm glad I got to share how special they are to me with you all

Messssage to all of my fellow Southern Gothic lovers and friends

So, I was having a deep convo with Raquel last night and we talked about alot of things. Smallville, One Tree Hill, Southern Gothic, the Hellick, and a bunch of other stuff. Including the novel I am currently writing. A few weeks after I graduated, I was inspired to start writing and have continued to do so to this day. I have a bout 15 chapters done, and am having writers block lol. Um, I never thought I'd be a writer, but all this stuff just sorta came out. Believe it or not, these past days and weeks, everyone at SGP, and the cbox, have inspired me to write more...and get over my wriers block, so I want to thank you soo much. You don't know how much it means to me. So as a treat, I am going to post the preface...and well i hope you like it.
_____

George Bernard Shaw once said that there are two tragedies in life. One is to lose your hearts desire. The other is to gain it. Family, friends, and love, to name a few are what make us want to be more than we are; and yeah, sometimes they don't seem like enough, like we need something more, but honestly, what more could we want than something that was handed to us? Family, friendship and love are all free. Some people will beg to differ, but I doubt that thos epeople know the true meaning of those words, because if they did, they they'd know that life pushes us around, tries to dictate who we are when we don't even know oiurselves. Life is life, and we should be thankful for the joys it brings us: graduations, children being born, friendships, clarity of things you might have once questioned.

Graduation is a huge milestone for teenagers nowadays. Myself included. Throughout the years prior, we think that we are bullet proof. That nothing can touch us. We have this idea in our minds that we are all going to gro old, find our true love, and sometimes, even find ourselves, but what teenagers do is take life for granted and expect it to be there the next day, and the day after that and so forth. They want to find their soul mate, the person who will make his/her life whole. It's not that easy. People want their plans to mean something at that specific moment so in fifty years, they can look back and tell their grandkids that it all mattered.

Graduating high school is something I've looked forward to since I finished junior high. I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. Thinking back to that time, all I can remember is playing basketball and remembering it was so easy. But yet, I sit here, next to all my friends, in front of my entire family, waiting for my name to be called, and realize that it wasn't easy and that it DOES matter. Here I am sitting by friends, acquaintances, and teachers I've know going on four years, and I realize that Shaw was right abou the two tragedies in life. This year, I lost my hearts desire. I lost my way and struggled to get back on track. But something amazing happened during the course of my senior year. I gained it. For a moment, I lost sight of what truly mattered in life and let it coloud my judgment.

I could hear my family calling my name as I sat there waiting to have my diploma handed to me. My row started to stand, and I could feel my heart racing a mile a minute. I started to look at everyone around me. At their faces, their expressions, everything. I wanted to see if they felt it too. If they felt the magic in the air. I contined looking around and suddenly my eyes connected with a set of emerald ones. It was in that moment that I felt as ease. Like I was somewhere outside, looking in. It was then that the name of the person in fron of me was called, and I realized I was next.

I thought to myselfm, 'This is it. This is the moment I've been waiting for. The moment where I wanted it to all have mattered...

_________

Alright so that was the preface to my novel. I wanted to share it with all of you because you all have a place in my heart now; you're like a second family, and I'll never forget that. :)

And yes George Shaw and OTH inspired me for the first few lines.
